The Legend of Uncle Boonmee ( Loong Boonmee Raleu Chat , 2010) is the Thai film winner of the Palme d'Or 2010 , and directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul .
This honors, and the premise (a man about to die is visited by ghosts of the past and mythical creatures) certainly caught my attention.
At first the movie fulfills what it promises, but very quickly moves from the dream to lethargic and then to the confusion, with a final rather complicated, apparently intended for people familiar with Buddhism.
Most notable may be the beauty of natural landscapes, and the sequence of the princess, photographed and directed with great skill.
Moreover, I think what confuses me most is how this work was made of the Palme d'Or .. really can not find the square that circle.
